Wilson E. Wallace

Attorney at Law | Wilson E. Wallace, PLLC

Wilson E. Wallace is a board-certified oil, gas, and mineral law attorney with over 12 years of experience, specializing in energy law and real estate law. As a member ranching family that has continuously operated lands for over 120 years, Wilson has a deep understanding of the interplay between ranching activities and energy exploration and production.  With hands-on experience in both the energy industry and mineral management, Wilson offers a unique blend of practical insight and legal knowledge.

Early in his career, Wilson served as a mineral manager for a regional bank and trust company, where he was responsible for overseeing extensive mineral portfolios and negotiating oil and gas leases (and related agreements).  This experience gave Wilson a unique insight into the entirety of mineral management.  Wilson currently manages mineral/royalty interests in over a dozen counties across the state of Texas.

Wilson also has experience as an independent petroleum landman, working in the Permian Basin of West Texas (Delaware and Midland Basins), South Texas (Eagle Ford), East Texas (Haynesville) and Eastern Colorado (D-J Basin).

Wilson has extensive experience in mineral title examination, and has prepared drilling and division order title opinions in the Permian Basin, Eastern Shelf, Fort Worth Basin and South Texas.

While maintaining his private practice, from 2020 to 2023, Wilson served as general counsel for an independent oil and gas company operating sixty wells across six counties in the Fort Worth Basin and Eastern Shelf.   Wilson successfully guided the company from acquisition in April 2020 to a divestiture in 2023, delivering substantial returns for shareholders.

Currently, Wilson represents large and small land and mineral owners across Texas, with a particular focus on the Permian Basin and Eastern Shelf.   While primarily focused on representation of land and mineral owners, Wilson also assists independent operators in the preparation of title opinions and transactional matters.

In addition to his energy law practice, Wilson has extensive experience in real estate law. His real estate practice encompasses title examination, and the preparation of deeds and other essential legal documents.  Wilson frequently works with banks to draft and review legal documents required for financing. While maintaining his private practice,  Wilson worked for Security Title for 8 years, where he served in numerous capacities including Lead Attorney, Title Plant Manager and Vice President.  Wilson currently works with Security Title as outside legal counsel.
